Features

  • Meets OSHA Accuracy Requirments

  • Low or High Range Sensors Available

  • Computes STEL and TWA values

  • Battery status LED

  • Data Logging Available

The Z-900 Hydrogen Sulfide Meter is a hand held instrument which measures hydrogen sulfide concentration, in air, with a range of 0 - 200 ppm and a resolution of 0.1 ppm. The instrument features an LCD display, a low battery indicator, and an audible alarm that can be set at any level, within range of the sensor. The LCD display outputs the current hydrogen sulfide concentration, in ppm, every ten seconds. Peak, STEL (15 minute average), and TWA (an 8 hour average) values can be also be viewed at any time.

With the optional data logging feature, the meter stores all of the exposure points for up to 5 separate uses. The date, time, number of exposure points, and the interval between each point, are conveniently stored with each set of data. All of the log files easily uploaded to PC using components available within the Microsoft Windows Operating System or the terminal software included with the instrument.

The sensing element of the instrument is an electro-chemical cell. The cell is a four-electrode type, which contains a working and an active auxiliary electrode. The signal from the auxiliary electrode is used for temperature compensation and to improve the selectivity of the entire sensor. The sensor response is linear with the concentration of hydrogen sulfide in air.

This sensor may respond to certain gases in addition to hydrogen sulfide. This table shows the typical response expected when the meter is exposed to a given gas concentration. Care needs to be exercised about using this instrument in the presence of large concentrations of interfering gases. Contact the manufacturer if difficulties are suspected with interfering gases or with other potential usage problems.
